BATON ROUGE, La.(NBC33) — Concordia - A Ferriday man is in jail on allegations he stabbed a woman, raped her daughter and then robbed both of them. J.C. Hampton was arrested Sunday on charges of aggravated robbery, first-degree robbery, aggravated rape and attempted second-degree murder. Hampton is being held on $250,000 bond. Charges include aggravated robbery, first degree robbery, aggravated rape and attempted second degree murder.
Livingston - The Denham Springs Police Department is pushing for an ordinance that would create two classes of reserve officers. One class would handle patrols and traffic control, and the other would stick to the desk. Booking people who are arrested and handling police paperwork. Right now folks who want to be reserve officers have to go through a three month training course. While they're training, they can't go out on patrol, but police want to give those people something to do.
Lafayette - This man in hot water after deputies say he was pointing a gun at people as they drove by. It's thought to have happened yesterday while deputies were trying to save people from the high water. 47 year old Kelly Quirk is thought to have pointed his gun at several people, and threatening to shoot if they kept driving down a public road. Deputies say Quirk was concerned the wake from people driving through the flooded street would send water into his house. He's charged with aggravated assault. He's free tonight on 22 thousand 500 dollars bond.
