Rapides - A high tech way to get new teachers ready for the classroom. The Department of Education at LSU Alexandria has been training for their new avatar program. The avatar program simulates teaching and dealing with children in a risk free environment. The children are programmed to react a certain way depending on their psychological development and situations presented. LSUA is one of the first schools in the nation to have the program.

Saint Martin - Sheriff's deputies arrested two men they say were running a meth lab on Prairie Highway in Breaux Bridge. Detectives say they found an inactive meth lab, and called in hazmat to clean up the site. 37 year old John Montgomery and 30 year old Jonathan Chautin were booked into the Saint Martin parish jail on a variety of charges.

Lafayette - Sheriff's deputies say they've arrested two men for aggravated burglary and attempted second degree murder. We're told 25 year old doctor Edmond, and 20 year old Corey Fox broke into an occupied house armed with knives and guns. Two other men were with them, and Lafayette sheriff's deputies are still searching for them. Detectives say one of the people in the house was stabbed several times, and a woman in the house was cut when she jumped out a window to escape. Both of the victims are expected to be ok.

That's a look at what's happening - parish by parish.
