Orleans - A five year old girl, shot and killed at another child's birthday party, was laid to rest on Tuesday morning. Briana Allen’s funeral was held in Central City, not far from the scene where she, along with four others, were hit by a hail of bullets on May 29. It was a crime that caused shock and outrage, another incident where children and other innocent bystanders fell victim to the city's ongoing problems with violence. Family and friends say Briana was a sweet girl full of life. They dressed in pink and white in her honor.

Lafourche - These four are locked up after a home invasion in Thibodaux. Police say the group went to an 81 year olds house because he had pain medication. Police say the suspects grabbed the meds right out of the victim's hand. We're told police were able to find the suspects after one of them came back to pick up the house keys she forgot at the scene. The group is locked up and charged with home invasion. They're behind bars on 75 thousand dollars bond.

East Baton Rouge - In Zachary, ground was broken on the latest green light project. This one is at the intersection of US 61 and Louisiana 64. The million dollar project will expand the area from two lanes to four. The project also will include upgraded traffic signals and a dedicated right hand turn lane on US 61 north. The project is set to take four months to complete.

That's a look at what's happening - parish by parish.
