In Caddo Parish a train derailment tied up traffic for most of the morning in Shreveport.
Officials say the driver of a saltwater truck was crossing the tracks this morning at 9:30 when he collided with an oncoming train. The driver and conductors on the train were taken to the hospital for treatment.  They are expected to be okay.

In East Baton Rouge Parish, deputies are searching for a cell phone thief they say used Craigslist to find his victims. David Mattox, 21,  of Baton Rouge is accused  of arranging to meet several people with phones for sale, then fleeing the meeting place once he had his hands on the phones. Matto’s been seen a black Chevrolet Cobalt 4-door vehicle with Louisiana license plate TFP325. 

In Livingston Parish, a man and a woman are behind bars accused of stealing more than a thousand dollars’ worth of merchandise from the Watson WalMart this morning around 9:30 a.m.  Deputies say Gina Gabel, 32, of St. Francisville and Alvin Johnson, 28, of Baton Rouge were suspected of stealing two computers and a desk from the store. Store officials called deputies, who found the suspects at a home in Watson, along with the missing merchandise. They have both been charged with felony theft.
