Owner of popular Lafayette night club dies in early morning car crash

The owner of a popular Lafayette nightclub died in a single car crash during the early morning on Friday, April 27.

Richard Broussard, 57, was the passenger involved in the fatal wreck Broussard, who is the owner of Scandals Night Club located in the Crown Plaza Hotel on Pinhook Road in Lafayette, was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

The Lafayette Police Department is still investigating the incident. We’re told the driver, Donna “Andre” Theall, 43, lost control of the vehicle on Verot School Road. The car then struck a telephone pole as well as the sign for a nearby gas station. The car continued for some distance before coming to a stop at the gas station pumps.

The crash happened shortly after midnight.
