North Baton Rouge Training Initiative hopes to bring work to high unemployment area

BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Local community leaders as well as workforce development held a press conference today to kick off the 70805 Education For Careers fair and to launch the North Baton Rouge Training Initiative.
The program is aimed at providing career opportunities for the north Baton Rouge community and to reduce the unemployment rates in the area.
'It's an opportunity for the individuals and families to come out and learn about all the training options that are available that could enhance their quality of life,” Phyllis Coleman-Mouton, Vice Chancellor Economic Development, said.
The program is free to qualified applicants and it includes books and all the materials needed.
