WALKER, LA (NBC33) — Police are asking the public to come forward with any information that can help them understand how a man died in a motorcycle crash early yesterday morning.
“At the present time, we are seeking any witnesses to the accident,” Captain Sharp, Walker Police Department, said.
A passing motorist reported seeing a motorcycle crashed along the I-12 westbound entrance ramp on Sunday, June 16. When officers arrived to the scene at roughly 3:00 a.m., they found the bike and its driver, Jonathan Dale Free, 30, of Denham Springs.
“Upon their arrival, Walker Officers observed a motorcycle lying on its side on the shoulder of the ramp, its headlamp still illuminated,” Captain Sharp explained. “Medical personnel were called to the scene after Mr. Free’s body was found a short distance away.”
The Livingston Parish Coroner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. Until then, police need to learn more about what happened before the crash.
“We ask that anyone with any information concerning this accident, or anyone who saw Mr. Free on his motorcycle late Saturday night or early Sunday morning in the vicinity of Walker South Road and the I-12 westbound entrance ramp contact Walker Police at (225) 664-3125.”
The motorcycle is a 1998 Honda Magna, dark red or burgundy in color.
