NEW ORLEANS, LA — Six and a half years after Hurricane Katrina flooded New Orleans, the city is opening four replacement libraries.
The first library opened on Friday, March 16.
Besides books and media it has computer work stations, a cafe and an outdoor patio.
Two more libraries will be ready next week, and the fourth will open sometime in April.
The facilities cost $25 million.
Most of the money came from federal recovery programs and community development block grants.
