GEISMAR, La (NBC33) — There is new information in the explosion and fire at Westlake Chemical.

According to the Department of Environmental Quality, about 15 chemicals were released in the fire.

Smoke from the fire spread over the Mississippi River and Ascension Parish.

The explosion and fire happened at the plant back on March 22.

There is still no word on the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported.
