New Iberia, LA (NBC33) — Two days after a chemical plant exploded in New Iberia, residents are being allowed back to their homes.

The evacuation order was lifted this morning, after the blaze finally burned out.

The Multi-Chem Plant exploded Tuesday, and State Police evacuated a one-mile radius around the plant.

In that danger zone are several homes, businesses, a university research center and the New Iberia airport.

No one was injured in the explosion; the cause is still under investigation.
