Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Eating healthy - that's the goal of a new app designed in part by the Pennington Biomedical Research Center here in Baton Rouge.
The app, called the Body Image Voice, tackles eating disorders and obesity prevention.
The app also has ways for you to eat healthy and improve your body image.
“There are a lot of programs that have been shown in science studies to help individuals with eating, eating problems, and body image,” stated Tiffany Stewart with Pennington Biomedical Research. “By in large, the public never sees these programs, so basically what we are doing is taking the programs, and turning them to popular apps and games, so all consumers have access.”
The new platform is called Emerge. It is not currently available for download. However, you can keep up with its progress by clicking here.
