The Baton Rouge chapter of the NAACP held a march to honor Martin Luther King Jr.

Members of the Capitol City's faith community led the march early this morning, and dozens of people joined in.

People told NBC33 this is one the best ways to honor Dr. King.

“He was a man that went through so much for us and our community. We now have the right do everything”, stated Calvin Spencer, “Now we can give our kids a quality education.”

“It means the world to me you know, the struggles we've come through”, said Edward Times. “God has been with us and he is with us now.”

The march began at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and ended at the River Center.
