Morgan City, La (NBC33) — Twelve thousand people are without power tonight after two of Morgan City's internal operating generators went out.
According to Mayor Tim Matte, the city lost power around 4:00 p.m. this afternoon.
One week ago a transformer at the city's main power plant exploded and caught fire, leaving residents in the dark for over a day.
Tonight, city leaders are working to get the power back on. They say it could be restored at 7:00 p.m. at the earliest.
NBC33 will continue tracking this story and bring you the latest here and on NBC33 News at 10.
