If you're planning a Labor Day getaway, you're not alone.

Travel club AAA says at least a million more people will travel over Labor Day weekend this year compared to last year. Whether flying or driving, most will travel more than 50 miles. So, it's a good thing gas prices are cooperating.

Prices are averaging about $3.50 a gallon nationwide, which is lower than Labor Day last year, and even lower than five years ago.

Here in south Louisiana, the price for a gallon of regular gas fell almost 2 cents this week, putting the average in Baton Rouge at around $3.36 a gallon.

At some places, you can get it for as low as $3.20 a gallon.
