East Baton Rouge Parish, La (NBC33) —
Spending is up in Baton Rouge; tax collections grew six percent in January.
People spent a little over $600 million dollars in January, which is nearly $40 million more than last January.
NBC33 was told that the biggest increases were gained outside the city limits.
Mayor Kip Holden's office said it's the biggest January the Capitol City has seen since 2009.
