The Thibodaux man accused of decapitating his own child back in August of 2011 is back in court today to determine his mental ability to stand trial.

Jeremiah Wright, 31, entered a LaFouche Parish courtroom for his first of three days in court where a judge will decide on his mental competency.

The original competency hearing was set for December but Wright’s attorney’s asked for an extension.
