Man dies in motorcycle crash in New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS, LA — The New Orleans Police Department’s Fatality Unit is investigating a fatality that left a 29-year-old male motorcyclist dead. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members.
The incident occurred on Friday, Sept. 28, shortly after 4:00 a.m., on the westbound portion of the Interstate just before the South Claiborne Avenue fly over.
The victim was travelling in the far left lane, for reason unknown he lost control of the motorcycle striking the guardrail; the victim was ejected from bike landing onto ground level at South Claiborne Avenue. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the accident
Blood and alcohol tests are pending. The Orleans Parish Coroner will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
