BURNSIDE,LA(NBC33) — A man died after an accident near a conveyor belt at Burnside Terminal in Ascension Parish.

Ascension Parish Sheriff's deputies are investigating the accident.

Impala, the company who owns the terminal, released a statement saying the accident happened around 9:00 am Sunday.

Deputies say Nolan Cormier, 52 got into an accident near the conveyor belt.

He was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries. The investigation is on going.

Company officials suspended operations as the plant.
