NBC NATIONAL NEWS — A St. Francisville man is behind bars for payroll fraud at an Ascension chemical plant that went on for more than a year.

Jesse Brooks, 47, allegedly claimed time and overtime he did not work since January of last year. The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office tells us he took nearly $150,000 dollars with the scheme from Honeywell Inc.

Brooks faces felony theft charges and is currently out on a $10,000 bail.
