Major fire at Mike Anderson’s Restaurant causes serious building damage
BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Mike Anderson's Seafood Restaurant went up in flames early this morning around 1:30 a.m.
The Baton Rouge Fire Department says no one was in the building at the time, but the alarm company and a passerby saw the fire on West Lee Drive and called 911.
Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy fire in the dining room. They say it was spreading into the attic. The fire in the dining room was quickly extinguished, but it took much longer to reach the fire in the attic. They say this portion of the fire was accessed by cutting holes through the roof.
Firefighters finally got control of the fire two hours later, but were still on the scene well after 5:00 a.m. putting out small spot fires.
No injuries reported.
The owner did arrive on the scene to talk to fire investigators. No word on started the fire.
