The Baton Rouge chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving are kicking off a week-long event.

It's set to highlight the impact of alcohol and substance abuse that starts at home.

MADD says more than a quarter of high school students get alcohol from a family member.

The goal is for parents to have a talk with their children about the dangers of alcohol abuse on April 21. MADD is calling that day “Power Talk 21 Day”.

Studies show 75 percent of children say their parents are the leading influences when it comes to drinking.
