LPB was working out of the KKAY radio station in Donaldsonville on Tuesday, June 11 for a special about the song “You Are My Sunshine.”

Singer Luther Kent was there to perform for the recording, which is said to expand to National Public Television with even more artists. Kent is a renowned blues singer based in New Orleans.

Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne and Harry Connick, Jr. partnered with LPB on the project, which features some of Louisiana’s biggest performers.

The show, underwritten by BP, will center on “You Are My Sunshine,” originally recorded by former Gov. Jimmie Davis.

The production comes fresh off the recent work done on the Bonnie and Clyde miniseries, which will air later this year on a trio of networks – A&E, Lifetime, and History.
