LSU to install electric car charging stations
BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) - — LSU and Entergy have partnered up to bring the state’s first electric vehicle car chargers to the university. Instalation of the chargers will happen on Wednesday, July 6, and LSU mascot Mike the Tiger will get the honor of charging the first vehicle on campus.
Two chargers will be installed on campus – one across from Patrick F. Taylor Hall and one in the Hart Lot near Kirby Smith. The chargers were donated to LSU by Entergy. The charging station will also enable university areas, such as the Center for Energy Studies, and Entergy to collect usage data and conduct critical research about the chargers’ impact on consumers and the electric grid.
