LSU Offensive Coordinator diagnosed with Parkinson's disease

LSU Head Coach Les Miles made a major announcement on the first official day of practice for the team.

In a press conference, Miles made the announced that Steve Kragthrope, first year Offensive Coordinator, has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. As a result of his diagnosis, he is going to diminish his role with the team to less taxing duties. He will continue, however, to coach the quarterbacks.  

Parkinson’s Disease is affects the muscles causing them to tremor and eventually affects speech as well. The causes for this disease are unknown, but are most likely connected to genetics. There is no cure for Parkinson’s disease. Roughly 50,000 Americans are diagnosed each year.
