Louisiana — Pelican Publishing Company is proud to announce that our very own Kathleen Calhoun Nettleton, president, publisher, and co-owner of Pelican Publishing Company, has been named one of New Orleans Magazine’s 2012 Top Female Achievers. This recognition goes out each year to women in the workforce who serve as an example for the young women that follow.

Nettleton began her career at Pelican after graduating from Louisiana State University and has been with the company ever since. After her work in the sales and promotion departments, Nettleton took on more responsibilities in the business over the years, later becoming the Assistant Publisher in 2008.

Nettleton is dedicated to staying true to the essence of the industry she loves. She is excited about the future of the company and works hard to evolve their business model and stay ahead of the technology curve. “The basics of wanting to produce good books that people want to read will never change,” said Nettleton.
