The U.S. Department of Transportation has started a campaign to prevent teens from texting while driving, and a Louisiana-based company is getting behind it.

Cell Control is a device made to block all cell phone use in cars. Studies show that distracted driving is more dangerous than driving drunk.

Creators say the DOT campaign is right on target with what they're trying to do - make the roads safer for everyone.

"There's awareness, there's education, there's laws, but none of those actually impact the behavior of teenagers in real time," stated Cell Control CEO Scott Springer.

Cell Control creators say their device actually allows parents to monitor cell phone use and speed while their teens are driving.
