Donna Fraiche, chair of the Louisiana Health Care Commission, gave some insight about the Affordable Care Act.

Her main focus was our healthcare in comparison to the rest of the globe.

She mentioned that other industrial countries, such as Japan, have universal health care access and succeed; however, they just have different methods to pay for it.

What she says needs to happen is for the U.S. to find a way to make our healthcare as effective as other countries.

"The country’s been torn in two because of what was attempted to be a very good idea - an idea that the rest of the world already has in some respects,” stated Fraiche. “We have to be concerned about cost and rising cost. We have to be concerned about unintended consequences."

Right now, Japan ranks number one for healthcare, while the U.S. is ranked in the low 40's.
