Gonzales, LA (NBC33) — Construction is almost finished at the Seventh District Fire Station in Gonzales.
In December, a tornado tore through the station’s doors and damaged the building.
Firefighters tell NBC33 they never stopped services despite the damages.
Fire officials with the First District, which serves over the Seventh District, said even though the building still has work that needs to be done on the roof and on the insulation, the firefighters may get to use the building again as soon as Monday.
The renovations cost more than $226,000 and insurance covered most of the bill.
