Local contractors film episode for 'Sell This House: Extreme'
PRAIRIEVILLE, LA — If you build it they will watch. At least that’s what local builder-contractor JBC Construction is hoping. The company announced that they’ve been selected as the primary contractors to appear on national network A&E’s “Sell This House:Extreme.” Shooting began on Sunday February 24, and the episode will air June 1, 2013.
The show follows a select group of experts who take on nearly impossible challenges with some lucky homeowner’s renovation. A&E’s production crew is targeting a home in Prairieville, Louisiana this month, and the producers approached JBC with the offer to be on the show and do the heavy-lifting construction and remodel. The only catch: They have to complete everything within 3 days, in real time.
According to the show’s website, “Show host Tanya Memme and construction expert Charlie Frattini join forces with new designer Daniel Kucan to create a triple tiered approach to extreme renovation and home staging in an effort to help desperate homeowners prepare their difficult-to-sell spaces for today's tough real estate market. In the new season of Sell This House: Extreme, Tanya and Charlie continue to confront looming deadlines, hidden cameras, and unpredictable homeowners.”
As the official contractor for the episode, JBC will have three days from start to finish to completely gut, remodel and polish off an entire house, making it ready to sell. Although JBC is no stranger to tight deadlines, this one is sure to be a challenge. “We’re used to doing quick turnarounds,” says JBC Co-Founder Jonathan Stewart, “but this will be the first time we’re doing one with cameras over our shoulders.” But Co-Founder Cameron Hernandez isn’t fazed by the deadline. “We work well under pressure. Of course, we usually get paid more when we do, but this is TV, and the show must go on,” he grins.
JBC Construction has been in business since 2006, and their resume includes original construction and remodeling for residential and commercial properties including Salon Eden, Sunshine Cleaners, L’Auberge , Squire’s Formalwear, Hibbett Sports, and others.
