Baton Rouge, La — In last night's Metro Council meeting, members voted to put Baton Rouge's casinos on an even playing field with casinos in other parts of the state.
Casinos in the Capitol City will be able to serve drinks 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The city's three casinos will be the only places in the parish that won't enforce a 2:00 a.m. cutoff time. Unlimited drinks will be available from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 am on the gaming floor only.
Some people say this will be great for Baton Rouge, while others think it's unfair to local businesses.
“Certainly for us and the other casinos in Baton Rouge, it means we can compete on a regional level,” stated a representative with L’auberge Casino. "I think for hotel customers coming in for conventions, and certainly for businesses in general, it will certainly be a very positive impact."
Baton Rouge used to be the only place in the state where casinos had a 2:00 a.m. cutoff for people on the casino floor.

I am sure it will heip the business alot by bumping up the DWI's by alot and helping the members of the council to get re-elected by the drinkers in the town, just what Baton Rouge needs more help for cirme to keep going up as it has, and maybe even more wrecks by drunks to help out wonder driving stats for the state, and what Kip hasnt signed the bill so he can crawfish when it bits some of the council member in the A.. at a later date when more are hurt or killed by drunk drivers. Go drunks.
