Livingston Parish, La (NBC33) — If you're looking to snag a good read from the main branch of the Livingston Parish library system, you'll have to wait.

That library is closed today to prepare for a new $4 million facility, which will open on Iowa Street on May 1.

Officials say they're training workers at the moment so the new library will be ready to operate at full capacity.

The new library is twice the size of the old one, and will make room for the influx of people checking out books.
