Legal woes rock company responsible for listeria outbreak
NBC NEWS — Legal trouble began for the company responsible the deadly listeria outbreak that killed 29 people, including two people in Louisiana.
Now analysts say even grocers and auditors could be included in lawsuits.
According to the Denver Post, Jensen Farms in Holly, Colorado does not have enough insurance to cover the estimated $100 million in damages that could eventually result from the deaths and illnesses.
Attorneys say distributor Frontera Produce of Texas and auditor Primuslabs of California could also be liable, as well as grocery stores.
