LIVINGSTON, LA (NBC33) — The lawsuit filed against Livingston Parish President Layton Ricks has been dropped.
At last night's meeting, Ricks and Parish Council Members worked out a deal to keep everyone out of court. That’s after he signed a $453-thousand check to Alvin Fairburn and Associates last month.
It was money owed to the company from the previous administration.
Council members said Ricks didn't have the authority to sign that check without their approval.
Ricks says today that they all ready to move forward together.
Coming up on NBC33 News at 6:30 p.m. we’ll have another update regarding Layton Ricks. He says that he will retract one of the people he’s appointed as his top officials. Find out that part of the story tonight.
