NATIONAL NEWS (WNTZ) — An LSU Law graduate from Louisiana, a nurse anesthetist from Mississippi and a neuroscientist/musician from Texas are vying to be Cosmopolitan magazine's 2012 'Bachelor of the Year.'
Cosmopolitan’s November issue (on newsstands Tuesday, October 9) celebrates the hottest bachelors from across the country. This year’s group includes professional athletes, a TV news anchor, a lawyer, and a set of brothers from Montana.
Ryan Chenevert, 25, from Baton Rouge, a graduate of LSU's E.J. Ourso College of Business and Paul M. Hebert Law center, said in a press release that he was shocked to find out he was Louisiana's representative.
"I'm just a regular guy," Chenevert said. "Actually, I'm kind of shy. So, this is definitely a little out of my comfort zone."
In the November issue, the men describe themselves and reveal what they’re looking for in a girlfriend, including their top turn-ons and dating deal-breakers. The feature also includes E-mail addresses and Twitter handles for all the bachelors, so readers can connect with them. Readers can also follow @Cosmopolitan #CosmoBachelors for more behind-the-scenes information on the guys.
David Whitehead, 29, from Hattiesburg, is Mississippi's candidate. A nurse anesthetist, Whitehead said the craziest thing he did for love was fixing up an old car to sell in order to buy an engagement ring for his then-girlfriend, according to Cosmopolitan's website. However, he never proposed to the girl.
Don Vaughn, 25, from Houston, represents the Lone Star State. Stating that Angelina Jolie is his celebrity crush, Vaughn told Cosmopolitan if he can't stop talking about a girl to his friends, he's smitten. Readers can check out all the single guys online at www.cosmopolitan.com/bachelors-2012 and vote for their favorite from now until October 18. A panel of Cosmo editors will choose the 'Bachelor of the Year' out of the top 10 bachelors with the most reader votes, and he will receive $10,000.
The official announcement of the winner will be made on October 18 when all the bachelors gather in New York City at Copa for the annual Cosmo Bachelor Party.
