The Kiwanis Club of Baton Rouge teams up with St joseph's academy to get Baton Rouge kids to pick up a book.

The Kiwanis Club is filling bookshelves every week with new and used children's books to make sure young kids have the resources they need to succeed.
At Southdowns Elementary, St. Joseph's students donate and read books to Southdowns Pre-K students.

"The kids immediately, soon as it was set up, they were like oh look, books! and they generally pic really good books too." - said Southdowns Teacher, Liza Armstrong

A special thanks to the students at St. Joseph's Academy, and to their Key Club which sponsored the Book Drive for 3Rs for 3BR, which is the Kiwanis Club of Baton Rouge's signature Service Project. 3Rs for 3BR stands for "Reinforcing the Rewards of Reading: Building a Better Baton Rouge!" Southdown's Pre-Kindergarten Center is one of four sites that our Kiwanis Club 3Rs for 3BR is operating. Our goal is to ensure that every child in Baton Rouge has the incredibly powerful benefit of a home library in their home! Thanks also go out to our sponsors at Southdowns, CSRS/Garrard and Superintendent John Dilworth! For the new books at our sites, we can't thank School Aids enough for their support of our project!
