HERITAGE to host original Christmas cantata

HERITAGE, the Baton Rouge-based ensemble dedicated to the preservation and performance of the Negro spiritual, will present an original Christmas Cantata entitled “My Soul’s Emancipation”at Elm Grove Baptist Church, 1069 North 39th Street on Sunday December 11, 2011 at 4:00 pm.

The cantata is written and conducted by HERITAGE’s Founder and Director, Mr. Clarence Jones.

HERITAGE, organized in 1976, is a non-profit, professional choral ensemble that was established to fulfill the need of restoring and preserving the legacy of the Negro Spiritual. For more than 30 years HERITAGE has hosted the “Festival of Negro Spirituals” that has attracted many groups and individuals from throughout the United States. The concert is free and open to the public.
