Governor Bobby Jindal is excited Union Pacific is coming to south Louisiana

In Addis, Governor Bobby Jindal announces a new Railroad line that will bring over 200 jobs to south Louisiana.

Governor Jindal says that Union pacific will invest 200 Million dollars to expand their south Louisiana operations.

He says the expansion will come in 3 parts, a new support yeard in St. James Parish, another 29 miles of track from Livonia to Addis, and additional staging points in Livonia. 

The Governor says he's happy that Union Pacific is expanding, because better logistics like rail lines will usher in more industry to the state. 

"What's so exciting about this expansion is that we know rail lines are the backbone of the chemical and manufacturing industires in our state. We know that their expansion will allow them to better serve key plants on the on the river from Livonia to Avondale," said Governor Jindal.
