Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — The Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness sent four people to help out with recovery efforts in Virginia.
GOHSEP employees will help with Hurricane Irene recovery efforts; specifically, they'll be processing information to help impacted areas receive public assistance grants.
Irene hit the east coast in August of last year, and Louisiana's GOHSEP director said it's important to help them out, since they helped out Louisiana during disaster recovery.
The employees will be in Virginia for 30 days.
