Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — At the gas pump, AAA says the national average for gas is still creeping toward four dollars a gallon.

The average is just over $3.76 a gallon.

An overnight increase of three-tenths of a cent is almost the thirtieth straight increase for gas prices across the country.

Prices aren't setting records yet. AAA says that happened in 2008, when prices were at $ 4.11 a gallon.

Here at home, things are a little better than nationally.

According to GasBuddy.com, the average price for gas in Baton Rouge is $3.61 a gallon, which is up from last week's $3.58.

Last year’s price was $3.37.
