Gas bubbles to be focus of community meeting in Assumption Parish

Assumption Parish is holding a community meeting tonight to discuss the continued issue of natural gas bubbles being spotted in the area.

A public information meeting will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2012, beginning at 4:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at Sportsman’s Landing in the Bayou Corne Community. The purpose of the public meeting is to hear from the residents of the community. Local and State Officials shall be present to further discuss the situation at hand.

If anyone has information on bubbling locations or about a potential origin of the gas, please contact the Assumption Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness at (985) 369-7386.
