Lee Drive will close to traffic between Boone Drive and Bayou Duplantier/Bennett Drive beginning Thursday, July 18, at 7:00 p.m. The road is expected to re-open Monday, July 22, at 3:00 p.m.

During the closure, it will be necessary for travelers along Lee Drive to detour using Highland Road/ Stanford Avenue/ Perkins Road/ LSU Avenue. Please note that no vehicles, including permitted loads, will be allowed through the construction zone.

This closure is needed to allow the contractor to install a sewer main as part of the East Baton Rouge City-Parish Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) Program Central Consolidated Force Main Phase II Capacity Improvement Project. The overall project is scheduled for completion in September, 2013. The SSO Program will reduce sanitary sewer overflows, protect the environment, and allow the City-Parish to meet Federal Consent Decree requirements and Clean Water Act regulations.

The EBR SSO Program reminds you to please drive with caution through all construction sites and to be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Pay close attention to any traffic signs and directions given by flagmen or police officers.
