Fourth of July holiday operating hours for BREC locations

The Recreation and Park Commission for the Parish of East Baton Rouge (BREC) will close the administrative offices, 6201 Florida Blvd., on Thursday, July 4. Normal operating hours will resume at all BREC facilities on Friday, July 5. 

BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo, all golf courses and Liberty Lagoon Waterpark will remain open on July 4.

All tennis facilities will be closed Thurs., July 4 except for Highland Road Community Park Tennis Center, which will open from 8:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.

All special facilities including the Baton Rouge Gallery, Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center, Cohn Arboretum, Farr Park Equestrian Center, Highland Road Park Observatory, Magnolia Mound Plantation and Independence Park Theatre will close on July 4.

At Perkins Road Extreme Park, the BMX track and rock climbing wall will close on July 4, while the skate park will remain open.

Select recreation centers and gyms will remain open for free play on July 4. Please call your local recreation center for details.

All BREC summer camps will close on July 4 and will re-open for campers on July 5.
