Fourth of July grillmasters changing up the menu due to high prices

BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Lots of people are ready for barbecues tomorrow, but the items on the menu might be different this year.
Prices for some of the most popular cookout foods, like beef and fresh produce, are higher than usual.
Economists say the high prices are because of the drought that's hit the Midwest for the last year or so.
People we talked to are still planning their backyard barbecues, but they won't serve as many hamburgers.
"We'll have chicken and all that, but goat is the main thing that we're going to use,” said shopper Bobby Dillon.
The price of beef is almost two percent higher than it was at this time last year and chicken is nearly six percent more expensive. But the good news is that pork, goat, and other types of meat actually cost less than they did in 2012.
