PORT ALLEN, LA (NBC33) — A former Port Allen payroll clerk is suing the city after she says she never got money she deserved.
According to the suit, Robin Ackerman says she never got a check for the paid vacation time she never used. She says she was supposed to be paid more than $7,000 for those days.
Ackerman stopped working at City Hall in August along with several of her co-workers.
Mayor Deedy Slaughter says she has no knowledge of the suit.
She went on to say "The city has an automated payroll system that's supposed to keep track of sick leave, but it hasn't been used in years. So it's done manually."
Slaughter said the information "needs to be reviewed."
She also said, "The city has submitted Ackerman's annual leave payment for direct deposit into her account."
