BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A Baton Rouge teen died today after he crashed his vehicle on Jefferson Highway.
The crash happened on the 6600 block of Jefferson Highway at roughly 3:00 p.m. The driver, Samuel Barth, 17, was driving a 2007 Toyota Corolla southbound when he lost control in a curve. We’re told his vehicle hit an electrical pole and then overturned multiple times.
Barth was pronounced dead at the scene. He did not have a passenger in his vehicle and no other vehicle was involved in the crash.
Police say he was wearing a seatbelt and they do not believe alcohol to be a factor. However, they do believe he was driving too fast.
