Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — There's no doubt about it, for the Purple and Gold faithful, they say the Yigers are coming home the SEC champs.
Fans say the Tigers will do more than just win, they predict a blowout.
The folks we talked to say they think the team will run up the score, and they have lots of reasons to back up their predictions.
When it comes down to it, only one reason matters to LSU fans: they believe that the Tigers are the best team in the nation.
Tiger fans say they'll be happy with any score, just as long as the team comes home with a win.
Also, top local and state leaders are chiming in with their thoughts on tomorrow’s big game.
Mayor Kip Holden said, "Those bulldogs will be puppy dogs when we're through with them. Go tigers. Fight, fight, fight.”
Governor Bobby Jindal also gave his prediction, "I'm confident that we're going to win, but I'm not here to produce any locker room motivational material for the other team, so I'm not making any predictions. I'm not going out on a limb."
Jindal went on to say he bet Georgia's governor that LSU would bring home the SEC championship; it's his usual wager - a Louisiana seafood dinner. In return, Governor Nathan Deal wagered a meal of Georgia barbecue and a case of Diet Coke.
