Louisiana (NBC33) — Entergy Louisiana and Entergy New Orleans are getting sued.
Customers and businesses in both Orleans and Jefferson Parishes have filed a class action lawsuit, claiming the energy company didn't do a good enough job of preparing for the storm.
They also accuse Entergy of not reacting quickly enough after the storm hit.
A representative from Entergy says the company understands it can be annoying for customers to be without power, but states they're getting power back to people as quickly as possible.
"It's frustrating to customers when they're without power,” said Sheila Pounders with Entergy. “Keep in mind though - in Gustav, Katrina and Rita, customers left their homes. This time, the public didn't leave, they stayed. The restoration has been a lot faster than it was for the last three storms, it's just that that public stayed and didn't see what necessarily went on behind the scenes."
Right now, more than 90 percent of those who lost power because of Isaac now have it back.
