Baton Rouge Police are investigating a fatal crash that took the life of an 83-year-old driver.

It happened around 9:48 a.m. on July 24 at the North I-110 exit ramp at Florida Blvd.

Investigators believe that the male driver of a Chevrolet S-10 Blazer was exiting I-110 north bound onto Florida Blvd when he apparently lost control, causing him to strike a concrete support pillar.

The driver, Walter Georgetown, Sr., of Brusly, was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. There were no passengers in his vehicle and no other vehicles involved.

This crash is still under investigation.
