BAKER, LA (NBC33) — The director for the Jetson Youth Center in Baker, Daron Brown, has resigned.

NBC33 got the official word from we got that word from the Office of Juvenile Justice earlier this afternoon. The resignation comes in the middle of an investigation into how two teens escaped.

The office says Brown was acting on his own when he chased what he thought was the pair down Interstate 10 days after the escaped.

State Police say the escapees were never on the Interstate.

The investigation into that escape is still continuing.
