Two people died and another is the hospital after an early morning crash on Carey Road.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office reports that the incident occurred at roughly 1:00 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 7. We’re told deputies arrived on scene to find a Camaro flipped in the front yard of someone’s home. We’re told the vehicle flipped for roughly 100 yards before it came to rest in the yard.

EMS pronounced Christopher McCoy, 27, of Baton Rouge and Jonathan Love, 26, of Central, dead at the scene. A third occupant was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is expected to recover.

The preliminary investigation reveals that the driver may have been under the influence of alcohol.
